Nasleduj\u00faci blog je o pozoruhodnej prepojenosti \u017eiv\u00fdch procesov na na\u0161ej malej plan\u00e9te. Ni\u010d z toho, \u010do robia \u013eudsk\u00e9 bytosti, ani ni\u010d, k \u010domu doch\u00e1dza vo svete pr\u00edrody, neprebieha v izol\u00e1cii.<br \/>\nNie je to tak d\u00e1vno, ke\u010f medzi ekol\u00f3gmi preva\u017eoval n\u00e1zor, \u017ee charakter \u017eiv\u00fdch syst\u00e9mov ur\u010duj\u00fa v\u00e4\u010d\u0161inou abiotick\u00e9 faktory, teda vplyvy, ako s\u00fa miestne podnebie, geol\u00f3gia alebo dostupnos\u0165 \u017eiv\u00edn. Teraz sa v\u0161ak zd\u00e1, \u017ee toto presved\u010denie vych\u00e1dzalo zo \u0161t\u00fadia ochudobnen\u00fdch ekosyst\u00e9mov. V s\u00fa\u010dasnosti sa sk\u00f4r domnievame, \u017ee pravidl\u00e1, ktor\u00e9 ekol\u00f3gia odvodila, opisovali nie prirodzen\u00fd svet, le\u017e svet, ktor\u00fd sme vytvorili my. Dnes u\u017e vieme, \u017ee \u017eiv\u00e9 syst\u00e9my, v ktor\u00fdch pre\u017eili ve\u013ek\u00e9 \u0161elmy a ve\u013ek\u00e9 bylino\u017eravce, sa \u010dasto spr\u00e1vaj\u00fa \u00faplne, ale naozaj \u00faplne inak, ako tie, ktor\u00e9 o ne pri\u0161li.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ve\u013ek\u00e9 m\u00e4so\u017eravce m\u00f4\u017eu meni\u0165 ako popul\u00e1cie, tak aj spr\u00e1vanie ve\u013ek\u00fdch bylino\u017eravcov. Tie n\u00e1sledne dok\u00e1\u017eu meni\u0165 povahu a \u0161trukt\u00faru rastlinn\u00e9ho spolo\u010denstva, \u010do zase ovplyv\u0148uje procesy, ako s\u00fa er\u00f3zia p\u00f4dy, zmeny rie\u010dnych tokov a ukladanie uhl\u00edka. Dostupnos\u0165 \u017eiv\u00edn, fyzick\u00e1 geografia krajiny, dokonca aj zlo\u017eenie atmosf\u00e9ry: to v\u0161etko, ako sa teraz ukazuje, ovplyv\u0148uj\u00fa \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchy. \u017div\u00e9 syst\u00e9my p\u00f4sobia na na\u0161u plan\u00e9tu a procesy, ktor\u00e9 na nej prebiehaj\u00fa, v ove\u013ea v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ej miere, ako sme tu\u0161ili.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hovor\u00edme o \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/islandpress.org\/book\/trophic-cascades\">trofick\u00fdch kask\u00e1dach<\/a>\u201d : ekologick\u00fdch procesoch, ktor\u00e9 sa valia z horn\u00fdch \u00farovn\u00ed ekosyst\u00e9mu a\u017e na na jeho najspodnej\u0161ie \u00farovne. (Trofick\u00fd znamen\u00e1 t\u00fdkaj\u00faci sa potravy a sp\u00f4sobu ob\u017eivy). Ukazuje sa toti\u017e, \u017ee mnoh\u00e9 biotick\u00e9 procesy funguj\u00fa sk\u00f4r zhora nadol, ne\u017e zdola nahor.<br \/>\nTrofick\u00e9 kask\u00e1dy \u010dasto boli zisten\u00e9 na miestach, kde st\u00e1le pre\u017e\u00edvaj\u00fa, alebo boli <em>reintrodukovan\u00e9<\/em> ve\u013ek\u00e9 \u0161elmy. Ale pod\u013ea toho, \u010do doteraz ekol\u00f3gia zistila, sa zd\u00e1, \u017ee pravdepodobne ve\u013emi podce\u0148ujeme ich \u00falohu v pr\u00edrode. M\u00e4so\u017eravce, ktor\u00e9 dnes ozna\u010dujeme ako \u201cvrcholov\u00e9 pred\u00e1tory\u201d, nimi \u010dasto z poh\u013eadu paleoekol\u00f3gie v\u00f4bec nie s\u00fa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Druhy, ako vlky a rysy by bolo presnej\u0161ie opisova\u0165 ako \u201cmezopred\u00e1tory\u201d: patrili a\u017e na druh\u00fa prie\u010dku. Kedysi im v celom ich are\u00e1li boli nadraden\u00e9 levy, hyeny, \u0161ab\u013eozub\u00e9 \u0161elmy, <em>amficyony<\/em>a in\u00e9 pr\u00ed\u0161ery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dokonca ani obrovsk\u00e9 levy a \u0161ab\u013eozub\u00e9 \u0161elmy, ktor\u00e9 \u017eili v Severnej Amerike, a\u017e k\u00fdm tam nepri\u0161li prv\u00ed \u013eudia, nemo\u017eno pova\u017eova\u0165 za ozajstn\u00e9ho \u201ckr\u00e1\u013ea d\u017eungle\u201d. Vyskytovala sa tam je\u017eura ve\u013ekosti o\u0161\u00edpanej; obrovsk\u00fd bylino\u017erav\u00fd va\u010dkovec nie nepodobn\u00fd vombatovi, ktor\u00fd v\u00e1\u017eil dve tony; va\u010dkovit\u00fd \u201ctap\u00edr\u201d ve\u013ek\u00fd ako k\u00f4\u0148; trojmetrov\u00fd klokan; va\u010dkovit\u00fd \u201clev\u201d s protistojn\u00fdmi palcami a silnej\u0161\u00edm zahryznut\u00edm ako ktor\u00fdko\u013evek zn\u00e1my dne\u0161n\u00fd cicavec, pod\u013ea v\u0161etk\u00e9ho \u0161pecializovan\u00fd na lov obrovsk\u00fdch<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/georgemonbiot\/2014\/apr\/03\/australia-marsupial-lion-kangaroos-prey\"> klokanov; <\/a>rohat\u00e1 dvaapolmetrov\u00e1 korytna\u010dka; \u010di varan v\u00e4\u010d\u0161\u00ed ne\u017e krokod\u00edl n\u00edlsky. V\u00e4\u010d\u0161ina z nich a mnoho \u010fal\u0161\u00edch n\u00e1dhern\u00fdch tvorov vymizlo v obdob\u00ed medzi 40 a\u017e 50 tis\u00edc rokov. Zhruba v rovnakej dobe za\u010dali hust\u00e9 pralesy, ktor\u00e9 vtedy pokr\u00fdvali v\u00e4\u010d\u0161inu kontinentu, nahr\u00e1dza\u0165 traviny a zakrpaten\u00e9 stromy, ktor\u00e9 porastaj\u00fa v\u00e4\u010d\u0161inu austr\u00e1lskeho vn\u00fatrozemia dnes.<br \/>\nJeden vedeck\u00fd <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22442481\">\u010dl\u00e1nok<\/a> nazna\u010duje, \u017ee prv\u00ed \u013eudia v Austr\u00e1lii lovili niektor\u00e9 ve\u013ek\u00e9 zvierat\u00e1, a\u017e k\u00fdm nevymreli, \u010do sp\u00f4sobilo vymiznutie da\u017e\u010fov\u00fdch pralesov, \u010do n\u00e1sledne vyhubilo v\u00e4\u010d\u0161inu zost\u00e1vaj\u00facej fauny. Ako to je mo\u017en\u00e9? Predpoklad\u00e1 sa, \u017ee ke\u010f vymizli obrie bylino\u017eravce, za\u010dali sa l\u00edstie a vetvi\u010dky, ktor\u00e9 by inak sp\u00e1sli, hromadi\u0165 na lesnej p\u00f4de, \u010d\u00edm sa nakopilo palivo, ktor\u00e9 umo\u017enilo vy\u010d\u00ed\u0148a\u0165 v da\u017e\u010fov\u00fdch pralesoch po\u017eiarom. To vytvorilo podmienky pre zmenu veget\u00e1cie na tr\u00e1vu a kroviny.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V Eur\u00f3pe sa ekol\u00f3govia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/24591633\">za\u010d\u00ednaj\u00fa <\/a>prikl\u00e1\u0148a\u0165 k n\u00e1zoru, \u017ee na\u0161e ekosyst\u00e9my boli formovan\u00e9 slonmi, nosoro\u017ecami, hrochmi a \u010fal\u0161\u00edmi ozrutn\u00fdmi tvormi (a st\u00e1le na ne zost\u00e1vaj\u00fa adaptovan\u00e9), ktor\u00e9 tu \u017eili e\u0161te po\u010das poslednej medzi\u013eadovej doby, ke\u010f kl\u00edma bola podobn\u00e1 dne\u0161nej. A my len za\u010d\u00edname ch\u00e1pa\u0165, ak\u00e9 rozmanit\u00e9 a pre\u010dudesn\u00e9 ekologick\u00e9 procesy m\u00f4\u017eu by\u0165.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Povedzme si teraz nie\u010do o ve\u013erybom truse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V\u00fdskum z roku 1970 predpokladal, \u017ee ve\u013ek\u00fd pokles po\u010detnosti ve\u013ek\u00fdch ve\u013er\u00fdb v ju\u017en\u00fdch oce\u00e1noch bude vies\u0165 k n\u00e1rastu popul\u00e1cie krilu (drobn\u00e9 k\u00f4rovce), ich hlavnej <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/mms.12108\/abstract\">potravy<\/a>.\u00a0K tomu v\u0161ak nikdy nedo\u0161lo. Namiesto toho nastal jeho dlhodob\u00fd <a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/mms.12108\/abstract\">pokles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ako je to mo\u017en\u00e9? Teraz sa ukazuje, \u017ee v skuto\u010dnosti ve\u013eryby <em>podporuj\u00fa<\/em> popul\u00e1cie svojej koristi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u010casto sa k\u0155mia vo ve\u013ekej h\u013abke, no len zriedka sa tam <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0022098113001640\">vypr\u00e1zd\u0148uj\u00fa<\/a>, preto\u017ee stres, ktor\u00fd p\u00f4sob\u00ed na telo pri ponore, vy\u017eaduje odstavenie niektor\u00e9 telesn\u00fdch funkci\u00ed. Tak\u017ee sa vypr\u00e1zd\u0148uj\u00fa, a\u017e ke\u010f vypl\u00e1vaj\u00fa, aby sa nad\u00fdchli. In\u00fdmi slovami, <em>transportuj\u00fa<\/em> \u017eiviny z hlb\u00edn, vr\u00e1tane v\u00f4d pr\u00edli\u0161 tmav\u00fdch pre fotosynt\u00e9zu, do fotickej z\u00f3ny, kde dok\u00e1\u017eu pre\u017ei\u0165 rastliny.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">V ju\u017en\u00fdch oce\u00e1noch je limituj\u00facou \u017eivinou \u017eelezo, bez ktor\u00e9ho sa nedok\u00e1\u017ee mno\u017ei\u0165 a r\u00e1s\u0165 fytoplankt\u00f3n, ktor\u00fd je na doln\u00fdch \u00farovniach potravov\u00e9ho re\u0165azca. T\u00fdm, \u017ee ve\u013eryby kropia svojimi hovienkami &#8211; pardon, fek\u00e1lnou sp\u0155\u0161kou &#8211; ovrchov\u00e9 vody, hnoja vlastne <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esajournals.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1890\/130220\">fytoplankt\u00f3n<\/a>, na ktorom z\u00e1visia kril a ryby. O tomto mechanizme, zn\u00e1mom ako \u201cve\u013erybia pumpa\u201d, sa uva\u017euje u\u017e nieko\u013eko <a href=\"http:\/\/epic.awi.de\/17984\/\">rokov<\/a>. Dnes sa v\u010dak podarilo z\u00edska\u0165 aj experiment\u00e1lne doklady, ktor\u00e9 t\u00fato hypot\u00e9zu podporuj\u00fa. Vedeck\u00fd t\u00edm z Tasm\u00e1nskej univerzity nazbierali trus vr\u00e1skavca <em>Balaenoptera musculus brevicauda<\/em> (kto by bol povedal, \u017ee morsk\u00e1 ekol\u00f3gia poskytuje to\u013eko mo\u017enost\u00ed?) a pestoval plankt\u00f3n vo vode s jeho r\u00f4znou <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0022098113001640\">koncentr\u00e1ciou<\/a>. Po\u010detnos\u0165 fytoplankt\u00f3nu klesla v uplynulom storo\u010d\u00ed vo v\u00e4\u010d\u0161ine sveta, pravdepodobne v d\u00f4sledku rast\u00facich glob\u00e1lnych tepl\u00f4t. Ale zd\u00e1 sa, \u017ee pokles je najstrm\u0161\u00ed tam, kde boli najintenz\u00edvnej\u0161ie loven\u00e9 ve\u013eryby a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newscientist.com\/article\/mg21128201.700-vital-giants-why-living-seas-need-whales\/\">tulene<\/a>. Ako vzr\u00e1stli po\u010dty losov v Kanade, \u010diasto\u010dne v d\u00f4sledku vyhubenia ich pred\u00e1torov \u013eu\u010fmi, cel\u00fdm radom zlo\u017eit\u00fdch vplyvov na veget\u00e1ciu aj p\u00f4dny kryt prispeli k prudk\u00e9mu zn\u00ed\u017eeniu ukladania uhl\u00edka v bore\u00e1lnych lesoch. Ak by sme teda umo\u017enili n\u00e1vrat a zotavenie vlkov, mohlo by to ma\u0165 nesmierny vplyv na emisie sklen\u00edkov\u00fdch plynov v Kanade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nemali by sme si jednoducho predstavova\u0165, \u017ee vlky a ve\u013eryby a pakone, fytoplankt\u00f3n a vydry morsk\u00e9 sam\u00e9 o sebe dok\u00e1\u017eu zabr\u00e1ni\u0165 kolapsu kl\u00edmy, ktor\u00fd sp\u00f4sob\u00ed nekontrolovan\u00e9 spa\u013eovanie fos\u00edlnych pal\u00edv. Medziro\u010dn\u00fd pr\u00edrastok veget\u00e1cie sa nem\u00f4\u017ee vyrovna\u0165 spa\u013eovaniu fos\u00edlnych pal\u00edv, z ktor\u00fdch sa uvo\u013e\u0148uje uhl\u00edk, ukladaj\u00faci sa ka\u017edoro\u010dne po mnoho storo\u010d\u00ed. Ale ako za\u010d\u00edname tu\u0161i\u0165 tieto neo\u010dak\u00e1van\u00e9 d\u00f4sledky na\u0161ej ni\u010divej \u010dinnosti, m\u00e1me \u010fal\u0161\u00ed d\u00f4vod, aby sme za\u010dali s na\u0161ou plan\u00e9tou zaobch\u00e1dza\u0165 zodpovednej\u0161ie. V\u0161etko toti\u017e s\u00favis\u00ed so v\u0161etk\u00fdm.<br \/>\nBol by som ner\u00e1d, ak by sa ochrana vo\u013ene \u017eij\u00facich \u017eivo\u010d\u00edchov zredukovala na prepo\u010dty ich pr\u00edspevku k tvorbe sklen\u00edkov\u00fdch plynov.
